However, these top level domain extensions aren’t always used for what they are meant for. People usually stick to the normal .com, but if it is occupied, then these extensions can be a great alternative.
In addition to that, many of the really specialized ones tend to get better rankings in the search engines, as the domain extensions are harder to obtain – Which tells the search engines that only serious people are allowed to use a certain domain extension. (For example the .pro – Which has to be a “proffessional”)
